Will a sauna increase my risk of mold and mildew in the home?

A Select Sauna: Health Benefits Without Mold and Mildew

Many homeowners love the idea of owning a sauna but fear the risk of mold or mildew contamination associated with traditional steam saunas. A new select sauna line and line of dry sauna provide all of the health benefits associated with a sauna without the humidity - making it the perfect option for homeowners.

Traditional saunas produce high humidity levels, creating the perfect environment for the growth of mold and mildew, whereas dry saunas don't use water so the risk is eliminated. In fact, dry sauna benefits go beyond just the reduced risk of mold and mildew - they are actually much easier to maintain and operate.

For instance, instead of constantly pouring water over rocks to humidify the air, the dry sauna allows the user to simply relax. Likewise, without the moisture and hazard of electrical shock, many dry sauna users find it relaxing to install optional stereo or even LCD and DVD players in the sauna for a complete relaxation package right at home.

Traditional Scandinavian Style saunas do NOT create mold or mildew. This is a falsehood. Also, they can be operated in dry mode, too. With the traditional sauna you have a choice - wet or dry. With the infrared, it's dry only.
