May 12, 2006, Newsletter Issue #15: AromaSpa Portable Sauna for Cold Relief

Tip of the Week

Much has been written about the therapeutic benefits of chicken soup when one is suffering from the cold or flu. Yes, heat, and the sinus draining process can counteract viral infections.

In fact, quite frequently, people who have viral infections have an abnormally low temperature. However, when the personīs body core temperature is raised, infections go away. Experiments with patients suffering from viral pneumonia showed significant improvement after only 48 hours when treated with hyperthermia (hot water immersion).

Hyperthermia is also sometimes used as part of complementary treatment for people with HIV. Artificial fevers have long been used to treat viral and bacterial infections.
